The Amsterdam-based artist manifests her introspective journey into clay sculptures. Fusing bold, organic shapes with classes glazes, May Liok’s creations feel both playful and wholly abstract.
Her approach is artisanal and intuitive, resulting in a limited series of handcrafted one-off ceramics. Each work takes an average of three months to complete, from inception to execution, following eight design stages.

Her approach is artisanal, intuitive, but also very playful, resulting in a limited series of handmade one-off ceramics. She also makes work on demand and her terra cotta collection is available in continuous series.
“My work is a reflection of how I perceive, understand and process the everyday chaos I am exposed to. Through play and experimentation, the work unfolds itself and visceral forms appear.”
